Always hard-working, he emerged into the limelight slowly. As his fame spread (especially in Europe) he was popular as a high energy performer who always delivered. Here he drew on that experience to produce an album that's characteristically powerful and tough. As an added guarantee of quality, this Chicago-based bluesman surrounded himself with classy sidemen like Bruce Feiner, Mike Nunno and Marty Sammon. Phil Guy passed away August 20, 2008 (aged68) in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
