Description
The Collecta Prehistoric Life Ankylosaurus Toy Dinosaur Figure is a highly detailed and accurate replica of the armored dinosaur that lived 70-65 million years ago. It measures 6.7''L x 2''H and is hand painted and approved by paleontologist Anthony Beeson. The Ankylosaurus was a plant-eating creature that grew up to 35 feet in length and weighed 3-4 tons. Its thick armor provided protection from predators like the T-Rex. Fossil remains have been found in the USA, Canada, and Bolivia. CollectA's mission is to educate collectors and promote creative play with their high quality, phthalate-free and lead-free toy replicas.
CollectA's detailed replica of the prehistoric Ampelosaurus is lifelike down to the plates, bulbs and spines that made up its armor. The sauropod had a long neck and even longer tail and grew to be about 49 feet in length. Ampelosaurus lived in Europe during the Cretaceous Period. It was first discovered in 1989 and a new species of Ampelosaurus was discovered as recently as 2007. The Ampelosaurus is depicted here in the act of turning to look behind it. Each figure in our Prehistoric Life Collection has been approved by archeologist Anthony Beeson, a well-respected expert in paleoimagery.
