This TTO razor has a nice weight and a long non-slip handle. Build quality is very good and it is made of brass which is chrome coated.Just like all razors, it would last a lifetime if cared for and looked after. This razor is good for beginners and advanced shavers. Contrary to general belief, DE safety razors are really easy and safe to use once you get the knack of it. And you would NEVER go back to the junk 90% of the people shave with today. No more clogged up blades which go dull after 3 shaves and 2, 3, 4 or even 5 blades tugging and tearing at your beard and skin.
And the opinions are universal - there is NO shave like a proper DE razor shave. Well, maybe a straight razor or Shavette, but they are not everyone's cup of tea. Bear in mind that razor manufacturers have moved away from traditional shaving methods to disposable and cartridge systems. WHY? There is no money in it for them with straight razors and safety razors because they last for ever and DE safety blades are as cheap as chips. The razors are built like tanks and last forever. So they had to develop a replacement to make money, and that is where the horrid disposable and plastic cartridge razors came in. And in our very busy and manic and time limited lifes, everyone fell for it, hook, line & sinker!
There is a HUGE resurgence worldwide to the traditional wet shave. And the reasons are simple: 1) The best shaves ever
2) Very cheap
3) Very satisfying - nothing like a clean shaved face
4) The nostalgia, the ritual and the smell
5) One has to get up 10 minutes earlier, but the whole experience is worth it!
