It’s quite hard choosing a hair straightener, mainly I find because of all the marketing out there. \u201cThis one comes with a pouch\u201d, \u201cno but this one comes in pink<\/a>\u201d, \u201cOh! But these new styles come with a PA.\u201d It is hard for anyone to know which product to go for, but my advice is don\u2019t jump to the first sparkling\u00a0 jewel encrusted 50% off straightener you find. Take the time, make your comparisons<\/a>, ask questions and always remember that the most important part of styling your hair with heat is protecting it as much as possible. <\/span><\/p>\n Something else to keep in mind is, yes, it is always nice to save some money when buying a product, but when it comes to hair straighteners \u2013 what you buy is what you get. So try not to skimp with the cheaper deals and impulsive buys. Rather invest in the product as well as your locks. So without further ado, here are my top 3 straighteners:<\/span><\/p>\n This is a brand I am sure we are all familiar with, as they were one of the first high end hair straighteners in the market \u2013 none other than GHD<\/a>. When they first started, GHD were very good quality and their ceramic tongs created great sleek styling. Over the years however, since being bought out, they have somewhat lost their quality, and are now being produced in China. They still get the job done and what I do like about them is that they can curl and create waves as the tongs have a rounded barrel shape. They also carry a 2-year warranty. Still a good buy, just don\u2019t expect the same quality as the very first one you bought way back when.<\/span><\/p>\n Then there is the Corioliss. This is what I am currently using and loving it. The main difference to other straighteners is that the plates are titanium and not ceramic. It works quickly and I love the adjustable heat settings, so you don\u2019t necessarily have to burn your hair off. The only problem I found with this iron is that the results d0 not last as long as other stylers<\/a>.\u00a0 <\/span>I have also found that it is only really suited for straightening and not so much curling<\/a>. It does come with a great heatproof bag which I love for my travels.<\/span><\/p>\n The top straightener in my books (drum roll please)\u2026. is the Glampalm. This straightener can transform any unruly, frizzy hair into a sleek and structured mane. It also comes with variable heat settings to keep the damage to your hair at a minimum. I even found that my color was more vibrant after using this. It is quite hard to get your hands on one as it is only available in a few select salons, but the search will be worth it, I guarantee. It is also quite costly (sitting at around R1800 \u2013 R2100) but as I mentioned before, you get what you pay for when it comes to straighteners.<\/span><\/p>\n No matter which of these you choose, remember to always use protective products<\/a> on your hair, try not to overuse your styler as heat will forever be hairs mortal enemy, and when paying quite a bit of bob for your straightener \u2013 always take care of it!<\/span><\/p>\n
