Power strips and surge protectors are quite different. While\u00a0power strips are typically cheap,\u00a0multi-outlet plug strips that are merely an expansion of a wall outlet,\u00a0Surge protectors\u00a0offer some level of protection against power spikes. The golden rule when it comes to buying the best surge protector<\/a> is to always get more plug outlets than you need. You’re always going to need more plug points so rather opt for more than you need right now. For example, if you need four plug points, invest in a 6-plug surge protector, and so on. While you’re at it, make sure you also invest in a surge protector that has enough space for big plugs.\u00a0Consider getting a surge protector with wider spacing between sockets, or sockets that can be rotated or moved, to accommodate chunky plugs.<\/p>\n
