With the highly-anticipated launch of\u00a0Disney+ in South Africa, viewers have been waiting with bated breath to find out what viewers can expect to see on the streaming service come launch day.\u00a0 With over 1 000 films, more than 1 500 series and a slate of 200 exclusive Originals, Disney+ has now unveiled its full launch day lineup for South Africa.<\/p>\n

Launching on 18 May 2022, subscribers will have access to Star Wars\u2019 \u201cThe Book of Boba Fett\u201d and both seasons of \u201cThe Mandalorian\u201d in South Africa. In addition, Disney+ will be the home of the entire Skywalker saga, with Star Wars Episodes 1 through 9 streaming on the service.<\/p>\n

Confirmed from launch, superhero fans will have access to over 60 Marvel films including Academy Award-nominated \u201cShang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings\u201d, \u201cEternals\u201d, \u201cAvengers: Endgame\u201d and \u201cCaptain Marvel,” and over 80 Marvel series including \u201cMoon Knight\u201d, \u201cLoki\u201d and \u201cWandaVision.\u201d<\/p>\n

Subscribers will also be able to enjoy over 100 titles from Disney and Pixar, including the entire \u201cToy Story\u201d franchise, \u201cSoul\u201d and Academy Award\u00ae-nominated \u201cLuca\u201d, and from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Academy Award-winning \u201cEncanto\u201d which tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, and Academy Award\u00ae-winning \u201cCruella\u201d starring Emma Stone as the legendary \u201cCruella de Vil\u201d.<\/p>\n

National Geographic documentaries including \u201cThe Rescue\u201d and \u201cFree Solo\u201d, from Academy Award-winning directors and producers E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, will sit alongside popular National Geographic series such as \u201cThe World According To Jeff Goldblum\u201d and \u201cGordon Ramsay: Uncharted\u201d.<\/p>\n

In general entertainment, subscribers will also be able to watch titles including the hit original comedy series \u201cOnly Murders in the Building,\u201d limited series \u201cPam and Tommy,\u201d \u201cThe Kardashians,\u201d \u201cQueens,\u201d and mystery thriller \u201cDeath on the Nile\u201d directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh, as well as \u201cThe Simpsons\u201d and back seasons of \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy,\u201d \u201c9-1-1\u201d and \u201cBlack-ish.\u201d<\/p>\n

With unprecedented access to Disney\u2019s vault, beloved classics such as “Cinderella,” \u201cTangled\u201d, \u201cThe Princess and the Frog,\u201d and “The Little Mermaid,” will be available to stream alongside recent blockbusters like \u201cRaya and the Last Dragon\u201d and \u201cMulan (2020)\u201d. There will also be hundreds of Disney Channel series, shorts, and specials available to stream, including \u201cMiraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir\u201d and \u201cPhineas and Ferb\u201d.<\/p>\n

Fans can currently register their interest to take advantage of an exclusive introductory offer to subscribe to Disney+ in South Africa for the price of R950. This pre-launch offer for the annual subscription is only available until midnight 17 May and is equivalent to 12 months for the price of 8. Standard pricing at launch is confirmed at R119 per month, or R1,190 for an annual subscription.<\/p>\n

Users will have access to features like high-quality viewing, up to four concurrent streams, 4k video quality for select titles and the ability to set up to seven different profiles, including the ability for parents to create pin-protected profiles, ensuring kids access age-appropriate content.<\/p>\n
