Nissan has unveiled the all-new\u00a0Qashqai in South Africa with a\u00a0special launch version: the\u00a0Premiere Edition. The third generation of the pioneering crossover, the new\u00a0Qashqai model offers customers innovative and convenient technology with an extended\u00a0palette of two-tone colour options and even more convenience features. According to Nissan South Africa, the all-new Qashqai will make its debut in South and Sub-Saharan Africa later in the 2021 Financial Year with exact timing and spec to be released in due course. While we wait, here’s what you can expect from this new version of the much-loved vehicle.<\/p>\n
Boasting a completely renewed design inside and out, with innovative technologies and electrified power, the new\u00a0Qashqai promises to offer customers unprecedented convenience features which are normally found in upper automotive segments.<\/p>\n
New features like the\u00a09-inch TFT central screen, which houses Nissan\u2019s upgraded infotainment system, and an additional 12-inch TFT configurable screen, which sits in front of the driver, replacing the traditional dials make this latest iteration of the Nissan’s\u00a0crossover a tech-lover’s dream.<\/p>\n

\nThe driver will also benefit from a 10.8-inch Head-Up Display (HUD), offering speed, navigation directions and road information directly in the driver\u2019s line-of-sight. The two screens combined with the head-up display ensure the driver has easy and convenient access to key information while driving. Additional tech convenience comes features include a wireless charging pad, to enable passengers to easily charge their smartphone on-the-go.<\/p>\n
While styling has always been at the heart of the success of the Qashqai, the appeal of the Qashqai Premiere Edition has been elevated thanks to the introduction of a palette of two-tone colour options for a more personalised choice. The following body colours are available with a striking black roof: new blue, pearl grey and pearl white, while the black body colour is available with a grey roof. The Premiere Edition also features neatly integrated roof rails, which are finished in a matt silver.<\/p>\n

Additional aesthetic appeal comes in the form of new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, which complement the new Qashqai\u2019s stance, which is more purposeful thanks to the longer wheelbase and sharp shoulder lines over the wheels. Life-on-board is given an airy feel thanks to the panoramic roof, with a powered sliding blind to protect occupants on hot and sunny days.<\/p>\n
Inside, passengers will enjoy additional interior head, knee and shoulder space that has been generated thanks to the longer wheelbase and smart packaging of the CMF-C platform.<\/p>\n
The new Qashqai Premiere Edition is powered by what Nissan is calling “a highly evolved iteration of the 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine found on the current Qashqai”. However, Nissan\u2019s engineers have developed it to include mild hybrid technology which enhances its efficiency. Thanks to the addition of a secondary Lithium-ion battery system, the new Qashqai offers extended idle stop, quicker restart and coasting stop (automatic only).<\/p>\n
