According to Sony, this new line of TVs is powered by\u00a0Cognitive Processor XR technology, a next-generation AI technology that promises to greatly improve the viewing experience.<\/p>\n<h3>Cognitive Processor XR<\/h3>\n<p>Powered by Cognitive Processor XR, Sony says the &#8216;brain&#8217; of the new BRAVIA XR models use a completely new processing method that goes beyond conventional AI. Designed to replicate the ways humans see and hear,\u00a0Cognitive Processor XR is powered by cognitive intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>When we see objects, we unconsciously focus on certain points,\u00a0cognitive intelligence, knows where that focal point is by dividing the screen into numerous zones and detecting where the \u201cfocal point\u201d is in the picture.\u00a0While conventional Artificial Intelligence (AI) can only detect and analyse picture elements like colour, contrast and detail individually, this new processor can cross-analyse an array of elements at once, just as our brains do. By doing so, each element is adjusted to its best final outcome, in conjunction with each other, so everything is synchronised and lifelike \u2014 something that Sony says conventional AI cannot achieve.<\/p>\n<p>Cognitive Processor XR can also analyse sound position in the signal so the sound matches precisely with what\u2019s on the screen. In addition, it upconverts any sound to 3D surround sound, to deliver supreme realism with an immersive soundscape.
