The muscle car&#8217;s\u00a0appearance in countless Hollywood films, such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pricecheck.co.za\/search?search=need%20for%20speed&amp;utm_source=blog.pricecheck.co.za&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=blog_Review_Behind_the_Wheel_of_the_New_Ford_Mustang&amp;utm_content=Review_Behind_the_Wheel_of_the_New_Ford_Mustang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Need for Speed<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pricecheck.co.za\/search?search=john%20wick&amp;utm_source=blog.pricecheck.co.za&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=blog_Review_Behind_the_Wheel_of_the_New_Ford_Mustang&amp;utm_content=Review_Behind_the_Wheel_of_the_New_Ford_Mustang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>John Wick<\/em><\/a>\u00a0franchise, has given it a somewhat mythical aura, but it\u2019s good to remember that this car can be owned by actual everyday people. Of course, it carries a notable price-tag, but not so hefty that the highly successful amongst us can&#8217;t afford to park it in our double garage.<\/p>\n<p>Ford is doing its darnedest to bring the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pricecheck.co.za\/search?search=ford%20mustang&amp;utm_source=blog.pricecheck.co.za&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=blog_Review_Behind_the_Wheel_of_the_New_Ford_Mustang&amp;utm_content=Review_Behind_the_Wheel_of_the_New_Ford_Mustang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mustang<\/a> into the forefront of the sports car market in South Africa. Their efforts in showing ordinary South Africans that this car is attainable for almost anyone with a healthy bank balance, have resulted in the Ford Mustang being the best selling sports car in South Africa at the moment&#8230; and for good reason. If you&#8217;ve ever driven a Mustang you&#8217;ll know,\u00a0this isn\u2019t just another car.\u00a0Sure, there are loads of performance cars out there, but Ford\u2019s pony car is something truly special.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-25263 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pricecheck.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/mustang-50gt_back-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"Ford Mustang\" width=\"703\" height=\"468\" srcset=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/mustang-50gt_back-300x200.jpeg 300w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/mustang-50gt_back-104x69.jpeg 104w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/mustang-50gt_back.jpeg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 703px) 100vw, 703px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s enormously good fun to drive and whether you\u2019re cruising country roads with the top down in the\u00a0fuel-efficient 2.3-litre EcoBoost, turning heads with the ultra-powerful 5.0-litre V8, or living out your teenage fantasies in the limited-edition\u00a0Mustang Bullitt, this car always leaves you wanting more.<\/p>\n<h3>Everyone loves an upgrade<\/h3>\n<p>Both the 2.3-litre EcoBoost and 5.0-litre V8 Mustang GT models are available in Fastback and Convertible body styles, in a choice of nine bold exterior colours, and come complete with some pretty impressive upgrades in 2019. These newer iterations of the Mustang offer Ford\u2019s\u00a0advanced 10-speed automatic transmission,\u00a0sleeker styling, as well as sophisticated engine and suspension enhancements.<\/p>\n<p>Ford\u2019s 5.0-litre V8 engine delivers more power and a higher rev-limit than ever before, with peak power climbing to\u00a0309kW on the previous model to 331kW,\u00a0with an accompanying torque peak of 529Nm, in the 2019 version.\u00a0The more fuel-efficient 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol engine delivers 213kW and 441Nm of torque \u2013 an increase of 11Nm.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-25265 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pricecheck.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/mustang-conv-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"Ford Mustang\" width=\"702\" height=\"468\" srcset=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/mustang-conv-300x200.jpeg 300w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/mustang-conv-768x513.jpeg 768w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/mustang-conv-104x69.jpeg 104w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/mustang-conv.jpeg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 702px) 100vw, 702px\" \/><\/p>\n<section class=\"social-sharing-top\">\n<div class=\"facebook-share\">\n<p>Other cool additions on the performance front include new Active Valve Performance Exhaust technology, which enables you to adjust the intensity of the Mustang\u2019s exhaust note. The car also has recalibrated shock absorbers, to improve stability through corners, and thicker anti-roll bars, to help to better control body-shifting for sharper handling.<\/p>\n<h3>New-look styling<\/h3>\n<p>But the improvements extend far beyond the under the hood. The new Mustang also boasts new styling upgrades in the interior and exterior of the car.\u00a0The Mustang is packed with creature comforts like dual-zone AC control, as well as leather-trimmed, heated and cooled seats, complete with six-way electric adjustment for maximum comfort. The exterior of the new Ford Mustang delivers a sleeker, more athletic appearance. Boasting a lower\u00a0bonnet profile with integrated air vents, revised lower grille design,\u00a0re-modelled back bumper, and\u00a0restyled\u00a0front headlight bezels, the new Mustang has a\u00a0sharper, more aggressive look to it, helping you turn heads wherever you go.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pinterest-share\">\n<h3>PRICING<\/h3>\n<p>As far as performance cars go, the Mustang puts up a real fight on the pricing front. Coming in at just over R750,000 for the \u2018entry-level\u2019 Mustang 2.3 Fastback and topping out at under a million Rand for the\u00a05.0 GT Convertible and Mustang Bullitt, Ford\u2019s new Mustang offers plenty of bang for your buck.
