We\u2019re going to have a look at some of the movies that may not be on everyone\u2019s radar but that could end up being breakout successes!<\/p>\n<h3>Alita: Battle Angel<\/h3>\n<p><em>Avatar <\/em>director James Cameron takes on a popular anime story with <em>Alita: Battle Angel<\/em>, which follows a futuristic cyborg who has lost all her memories, and goes on a journey to uncover her past. Based on the first trailer, it looks like a match made in heaven, and with Cameron at the helm and a high-quality cast including Jennifer Connelly, Christoph Waltz, and Mahershala Ali, <em>Alita: Battle Angel<\/em> could be the stellar anime\/manga adaptation we\u2019ve all been waiting for.<\/p>\n<div class=\"arve-wrapper\" data-mode=\"normal\" data-provider=\"youtube\" id=\"arve-aj8mN7Apcw\" style=\"max-width:702px;\" itemscope itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/VideoObject\">\n<div class=\"arve-embed-container\" style=\"padding-bottom:56.250000%\"><meta itemprop=\"embedURL\" content=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/aj8mN_7Apcw?iv_load_policy=3&amp;modestbranding=1&amp;rel=0&amp;autohide=1&amp;playsinline=1&amp;autoplay=0\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen class=\"arve-iframe fitvidsignore\" frameborder=\"0\" name sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-presentation allow-popups allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/aj8mN_7Apcw?iv_load_policy=3&#038;modestbranding=1&#038;rel=0&#038;autohide=1&#038;playsinline=1&#038;autoplay=0\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>First Man<\/h3>\n<p><em>La La Land<\/em> director Damien Chazelle became a household name when his musical comedy lapped up\u00a0all seven of its Academy Award nominations last year. His next project,\u00a0<em>First Man,\u00a0<\/em>leaves behind any musical cues and is instead an exploration of mankind\u2019s first journey to the moon, and the men and women who made it possible. He teams up once again with Ryan Gosling who plays Neil Armstrong, and covers a topic that hasn\u2019t been all that well-explored in recent film history which gives this movie an opportunity to do something fresh.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21514\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.pricecheck.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Gosling-Armstrong.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Gosling-Armstrong.jpg 800w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Gosling-Armstrong-300x150.jpg 300w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Gosling-Armstrong-768x384.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Bumblebee<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Release date:<\/strong> 21 December 2018<\/p>\n<p>While you can\u2019t see him, WWE star turned actor John Cena will be visible in the next Transformers film, which takes the form of a Bumblebee spin-off movie. Also on board is Hailee Steinfeld (Edge of Seventeen), Pamela Adlon (Better Things, Louie), Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Jason Drucker (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul), and more emerging talents. The film is being directed by Travis Knight, who helmed the brilliant stop-motion films Kubo and the Two Strings and Coraline. Franchise veterans Michael Bay and Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce the film, along with executive producers Steven Spielberg, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian. The film will take place in 1987 before the events of the first Transformers, where battle-scarred Bumblebee, finding refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town, encounters Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15589\" src=\"http:\/\/www.menstuff.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Bumblebee.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Holmes and Watson<\/h3>\n<p>Sir Arthur Conan Doyle\u2019s Sherlock character has been explored in many different ways in film over the years, but arguably the most unusual actor will be taking on the role of the iconic detective. The titular detective will be played by Will Ferrell this time around, with John C. Reilly joining as his handy sidekick Watson in a script that flips popular tropes about the character on their heads \u2013 effectively asking the question: \u201cWhat if Sherlock Holmes was actually a buffoon taking credit for all the hard work of his more talented assistant?\u201d. Could this be a return-to-form for the <em>Step Brothers <\/em>stars?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21515\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.pricecheck.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Holmes-Watson.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"634\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Holmes-Watson.jpg 634w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Holmes-Watson-300x189.jpg 300w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Holmes-Watson-312x198.jpg 312w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Holmes-Watson-343x215.jpg 343w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Holmes-Watson-326x205.jpg 326w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Holmes-Watson-163x102.jpg 163w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 634px) 100vw, 634px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>The Predator<\/h3>\n<p>Despite already having three movies in the <em>Predator<\/em> franchise (not including the two\u00a0<em>Alien vs. Predator<\/em> spin-offs), the first is really the only one that has a <em>truly<\/em> positive reputation. 2018\u2019s <em>The Predator<\/em> sees Shane Black (who had a supporting role in the first movie in 1987) as director, and according to him they\u2019ll be returning to the roots of the original sci-fi action horror formula to try and replicate the mood and success of the first. The story is set between 1990\u2019s <em>Predator 2<\/em> and the mediocrely received\u00a0<em>Predators<\/em> from 2010, with a completely new cast including Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane, and Olivia Munn.
