They\u2019ve continued this avant-garde way of thinking with the Wii U.<\/p>\n<p>So, what exactly is the Wii U all about? \u00a0It\u2019s an innovative, versatile gaming system, equipped with all of the elements that make Nintendo a brand synonymous with FUN. This can display extra information, allowing for a distinctive gaming experience.<\/p>\n<p>The controller also functions as a standalone device; for on-the-go entertainment! The dual function of the Wii U is an innovative concept, but Nintendo has had to deal with a fair share of criticism.<\/p>\n<p>The reputable site, Trusted Reviews, points out that \u201cfew games have really made much use of the pads potential \u2013 or its array of accelerometers, front-facing camera and gyroscope controls.\u201d It does seem odd that they haven\u2019t leveraged the exclusivity this gaming system.<br \/>\nThe sub-par battery life is very disappointing \u2013 you can only expect about three and half hours of gameplay before you have to recharge the gamepad.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15669\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15669\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15669\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.pricecheck.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wii-U-Mario-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wii-U-Mario-300x300.jpg 300w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wii-U-Mario-150x150.jpg 150w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wii-U-Mario.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-15669\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Available for the Wii U<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The <em>Virtual Console<\/em> is a fantastic feature. It allows you to purchase and download \u2013 through the dedicated eShop \u2013 legendary games from the past; you can experience all of the classics \u2013 it\u2019s pure nostalgia. The majority of the games are reproduced, accurately, because they\u2019re run through software emulation.<\/p>\n<p>Trusted Reviews comments, \u201cNintendo has worked hard to make its eShop an online games store worth exploring, with indie titles bolstered by smaller scale first-party titles and an ever growing selection of classics in the Virtual Console section.\u201d You\u2019ll be too busy being stunned by the vibrant colours, the personality and artistry and the almost Pixar-like quality of the lighting. Nintendo\u2019s games aren\u2019t photorealistic, but they\u2019re beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So, is it worth buying? It\u2019s comes down to what you\u2019re looking for from a gaming system. If gorgeous life-like graphics and a variety of third-party game titles is your thing, it\u2019s a beeter idea to look at other consoles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pros: <\/strong>Cheaper than other consoles; excellent game catalogue; great design; backwards compatible with original Wii games (Wiimote and Nun chuck required)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cons: <\/strong>Few third-party titles; graphics inferior other rival consoles; only 8 GB of built-in storage (32 GB in the premium model); sub-par battery life;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Verdict: 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pricecheck.co.za\/search?search=nintendo+wii+U\">Available for R2780<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The success of the Wii, selling over 100 million units, definitely confirmed Nintendo\u2019s legacy.
