Since then brands such as Apple and Samsung have outpaced BlackBerry in terms of sales, and their once-popular messaging platform BBM has been replaced by WhatsApp.<\/p>\n<p>John Chen, the CEO and executive chairman of BlackBerry said that,\u00a0<strong>\u201cThe company plans to end all internal hardware development and will outsource that function to partners.&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>This follows a period of growth for the Ontario based company, how have been held back by \u00a0money-losing cellphone branch of the business.
