\nThe latest version of the popular Android OS is finally here and there are a\u00a0few features worth looking into. Android Nougat will be available on selected devices such as the Nexus 6P<\/a>, the Nexus 6<\/a>, the Pixel C<\/a>\u00a0or the Nexus 5X<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are 5 features that we’re most excited about Android Nougat<\/h2>\n

1.) A better user interface<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Perhaps the most noticeable difference is the new and more user-friendly UI. The notifications menu is more space-efficient, occupying less of the screen and using smaller fonts. The notifications themselves have also been optimised so that you receive multiple alerts for the same notification, and multiple notifications from\u00a0a single app will stack onto one another making it easier to browse through the UI.<\/p>\n

2.) Picture-in-picture functionality\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This one will be especially useful for those using Android TV or a tablet. With Android Nougat you’ll be able to stream video while making use of other apps or features on the device. There are other apps, such as the Youtube App, that have allowed picture-in-picture viewing, but now with Android Nougat you’ll be able to use it in any other third-party apps.<\/p>\n

3.) Google Daydream VR<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The first OS that will be entirely Daydream compatible, Android Nougat will be able to run the VR platform on the latest Google smartphones.<\/p>\n

4.) Uninterrupted updates<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

While not necessarily in need of fixing, Android\u00a0updates automatically update in the background and if you happen to be using the app when an update occurs you’re usually kicked out until the update is done downloading. With a new feature called Seamless Updates you’ll be able to use an app and update it simultaneously.<\/p>\n

5.) Block spam callers<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Now you’ll be able to get rid of those pesky telemarketers once and for all. Simply navigate to Settings in the Dialler App and you’ll see an option to Call Blocking option where you can manually enter any number and have it blocked as spam.<\/p>\n
