Design and Ergonomics
Weighing 820g without its battery, the Canon EOS 7D is constructed from magnesium alloy and is resistant to external factors like rain and dust. Its Integrated Cleaning System combats sensor dust using hi-frequency vibrations to shake dust from the infrared filter and incorporates Anti-static technologies, including a special fluorine coating, so as not to attract dust.
The 3.0" Clear View II LCD features 920,000 dot resolution, a wide viewing angle and a new solid structure for improved image viewing in bright conditions. Live View displays real-time images on the LCD, offering three auto focus modes.
Picture Quality
The Canon 7D Megapixel CMOS sensor features ISO sensitivity from 100-12800 which has been redesigned to capture more light and yield a better signal to noise ratio to ensure lower noise images throughout the ISO range.
Canon's Dual DIGIC 4 provides the EOS 7D with the power to deliver outstanding colour reproduction from its high resolution CMOS sensor. DIGIC 4 also delivers 14 bit processing, excellent noise reduction, long battery life, Face Detection AF and Full HD movie recording.

Performance features
Complementing outstanding still imaging capabilities with Full HD 1080 video recording including selectable frame rates and full manual control. Shoot 18MP 14-bit images at 8 fps as standard, in a burst of up to 126 large JPEGs; photographers can capture both detail and action.
A newly designed AF sensor with Zone and Spot AF modes gives the photographer new ways to select AF points. All points are cross type with the centre point offering both f/2.8 and f/5.6 sensors.

Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Designed for EOS EF-S mount bodies , the high-quality EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM is equivalent to a 24-136mm focal length and covers wide angle and portrait focal ranges as well as offers a 4-stop Image Stabilizer as well as a close focusing distance of just 0.35m throughout the zoom range.
The 4-stop Image Stabilizer offers great low-light performance that automatically detects panning and tripods, and responds accordingly to help photographers take steady shots in any situation.
Technologies
USM (Ultrasonic motor)
The ring USM uses ultrasonic frequency vibrations to drive responsive, near-silent high speed auto focus. The ring type USM allows full time manual focus override without having to switch out of AF, for a greater level of usability.
Super Spectra coatings
Lens elements are coated using Canon&s Super Spectra lens coating which suppresses flare and prevents ghosting & which is more prone to occur with digital cameras due to reflection off the image sensor. Canon&s Super Spectra coating also helps achieve true colour balance and increase contrast for vivid hi-fidelity images.
Image Stabilizer
The EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM features Canon&s 4-stop Image Stabilizer (IS). Ideal for handheld work, IS allows the use of shutter speeds up to 4 stops slower without causing image blur. The Image Stabilizer helps when shooting in low light conditions or from moving vehicles
