This 77mm Neutral Density Filter is manufactured of Schott glass imported from Germany, it is similar to the glass used by B&W for their very well known quality filters.
Neutral Density (ND) Filters are filters made to absorb all types of light without changing the colour of a subject, however, it creates a dimming effect, that allows less light through the lens to your camera sensor. It is like fitting a set of sunglasses to your lens.
These ND filters are available in various densities, essentially allowing you to reduce shutter speed in bright light conditions, typically a bright sunny day at the sea/beach. The filters are available with various densities and allows up to a maximum of 13 stops of shutter speed reduction. This specifically allows the photographer to reduce shutter speed to be as low as 5 seconds, on bright sunny days to create the typical milky effect of flowing and/or moving water.
