Tan Sri Anthony Francis Fernandes CBE (also known as Tony Fernandes) is a Malaysian entrepreneur. He is the founder of Tune Air Sdn. Bhd., who introduced the first budget no-frills airline, Air Asia, to Malaysians with the tagline Now everyone can fly. He has since founded the Tune Group of companies.

Fernandes was born in Kuala Lumpur to a Goan (Indian) father, and Kristang mother, Ena Dorothy Fernandes. He was educated at Epsom College between 1977 and 1983 and graduated from the London School of Economics in 1987. He worked very briefly with Virgin Atlantic as an auditor, subsequently becoming the financial controller for Richard Branson's Virgin Records in London from 1987 to 1989.

Fernandes is the founder of the Caterham F1 Formula One team, which began racing in 2010 as Lotus Racing and raced in 2011 as Team Lotus. In December 2009, Fernandes accepted a challenge from Richard Branson, a fellow airline boss and the owner of Lotus' fellow F1 newcomers Virgin Racing. The losing team's boss would work on the winner's airline for a day dressed as a stewardess. Fernandes joked the sexier the better'. Branson lost but has not carried out the forfeit yet

Feranndes is a West Ham fan and revealed in 2011 that he intended to buy shares in the club however West Ham owners David Gold and David Sullivan rejected his offer and he turned his attention to Queens Park Rangers. Fernandes was unveiled as the majority shareholder of QPR in May 2011, having bought Bernie Ecclestone's 66% share. He was also named as chairman of QPR Holdings Ltd. Fernandes has bought several high profile players as well as manager Harry Redknapp to QPR. These include Joey Barton, Djibril Cisse, Julio Cesar, Bobby Zamora, Shaun Wright Phillips and Park Ji Sung.
