Blessed with searing pace, agility and quick feet, he was handed hisArsenal debut in last September's Carling Cup third-round clash againstShrewsbury and also featured against Bolton in the next round. Ryojoined Bolton on loan in January to continue his football education andearned a host of rave reviews during his 14 appearances for OwenCoyle's side.
In just his second game for the club he scored a delightful goalagainst Millwall in the FA Cup, and rapidly became a real fans'favourite despite the club's relegation to the Championship. Coylebelieves Ryo is destined for a huge career both domestically and atinternational level and the young winger was handed his Japan debutagainst Azerbaijan in May.
Ryo signed for the Club from Chukyodai Chukyo High School in January2011, and was immediately sent out on loan to Feyenoord. His spell atthe Dutch club was so successful that he was given the nickname'Ryodinho' after scoring three times in 12 appearances and delivering astring a eye-catching displays.
Now his next challenge is to reproduce that blistering form in anArsenal shirt, although the youngster will continue his development inthe Premier League with Wigan this season.
