How it works

Purchasing data bundles is simple, just specify the mobile phone number you wish the bundle to be loaded on when checking out (there is a special field for this on the checkout page, which only appears when purchasing bundles). Within 1 business hour from placing order and receiving payment, your bundle will be activated, no need to dial any numbers, to convert airtime or to remove your SIM card!

The 10 MB Treshold

As per Vodacom T&C (see below), you have to have 10 MB or less from your previous data bundle (if you have one) in order to load a new one. You can purchase your data bundle from NIVO before you reach the 10MB threshold, we will simply delay the loading of your bundle until the threshold is met. We recommend that you purchase your bundle little bit in advance. Although we can only process your order during business hours, once the bundle has been purchased and paid, it will automatically be loaded onto your account once the 10 MB threshold requirement is met, even if this happens to happen over a weekends or after hours.

Vodacom Terms and Conditions

  • All prices include VAT.
  • You will be charged for the volume of data sent and received, and not the time you spend connected.
  • Unused data will be forfeited. Use bundled bytes within 30 days.
  • Once you have used up your bundle, the applicable out of bundle rate will apply.
  • SMS messages are charged at standard rates or SMS Bundled rates if applicable.
  • Multiple data bundle purchases are NOT allowed - customers can only purchase a data bundle if either one of the following four criteria are met:
    • They have not previously purchased a data bundle.
    • Their previous data bundle has expired as per the 30 day expiry rule.
    • Their previous data bundle purchased has 10MB or less remaining within the 30 day period through normal data usage.
    • Their prepaid data account shows a zero balance.
  • Data transfer rates are not guaranteed and are dependent on network availability.
  • Utilisation of data is billed in units, where each unit equals 1 byte.
  • Out of bundle pricing is rounded off to the nearest cent.
  • If session started in-bundle, the bundle is depleted and subscriber buys a new bundle, then the new bundle becomes available in the same session.
  • If session started out-of-bundle and subscribers buys a bundle, the bundle becomes available only from the next session.
  • Should the subscriber migrate to another Prepaid or Top Up package while a balance exists in their prepaid data account, the remainder of the data account will not be forfeited.
  • Should the subscriber migrate to a contract package while a balance exists in their prepaid data account, the remainder of the data package will be forfeited.
  • Both the recharge and error notification SMS is zero-rated.
  • Migration terms and conditions apply.
  • Bundles and tariffs only apply to standard APNs.
  • Tariffs do not apply to data roaming.
  • Use of Vodacoms email service to transmit any unsolicited commercial or unsolicited bulk email is expressly prohibited. Should you commit a breach of this term, Vodacom shall have the right to terminate the email service immediately.
