Riksha Stroller & Bicycle Trailer

The Riksha is a virtually indestructible bicycle trailer, with loads of space for your children, towed behind your bicycle with a pivoting coupler, ensuring it stays upright, even if the bike topples over. The Riksha also converts to a stroller very easily, ideal for jogging and strolling with your child in South African conditions.

The Riksha is a very comfortable and safe ride for a child that allows them to come along on bike rides. A bicycle towing a Riksha handles normally, corners predictably, and remains maneuverable. It features a lightweight aluminum frame, big 16-inch alloy wheels with a quick-release design, and also folds flat for easy transport and storage. The Riksha attaches quickly and easily to most bikes and features a weather shield provides extra protection from the elements and will keep your child out of direct sunlight.

Baby seats are dangerous: Simply falling over is an extremely common bike accident. The Riksha trailer will stay upright even if your bike falls over, whether moving or standing still. Where a bike seat on the other hand will fall with the bike and your child will be falling from a substantial height. Simple physics tell us that adding a 15 kg baby and seat combination to your bike will drastically alter the centre of balance, setting you and your child up for a fall.

It should also be noted that child seats can be awkward without help. You have to load the child onto the bike before you get on yourself, at which point the bike becomes very unstable, and the odds of accidentally letting the bike fall go up dangerously.

Cargo Trailer
The Riksha cargo trailer is a very tough hard-shell cargo box, enabling you to go on extended bike trips, camping or making deliveries with your bike. It features a strong ball-pivot linkage system, ensuring the bike and trailer handles normally and predictably. The Riksha cargo trailer has 20 inch tires, perfect for rough decent and technical sections and is dust-proof, waterproof, lockable and features a pneumatic assist arm to keep the lid open. It attaches at the rear axle, placing minimal pressure on your brakes, whilst unaffecting the rider's centre of balance.
