Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger is a 2011 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film is directed by Joe Johnston and stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Tommy Jones as Colonel Chester Phillips, Hugo Weaving as Johann Schmidt, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, and Neal McDonough as Agent Phil Coulson. The film was released in the United States on July 22, 2011.
Captain America: The First Avenger tells the story of Steve Rogers, a young man who is rejected for service in the United States Army during World War II because of his poor health. He is then recruited for a top secret project called Operation: Rebirth, which turns him into the super-soldier Captain America. Rogers leads the fight against the Nazi forces in World War II, and later becomes a member of the Avengers. The film ends with Rogers' battle against the Red Skull, the villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Synopsis:
