The Bains Cape Mountain Whisky 21-Year-OldDouble Cask Finish is a whisky that was aged in ex-sherry casks. The whisky started life as Bains Cape MountainWhisky and spent an additional ten years in older American oak before transferred to seasonedAmontillado and Manzanilla sherry casks for a final six years of maturation. Only three of each sherry cask were selected for thefinal whisky, which reveals typical sherry influences of nuts, dried fruit, and lingering spice. The whisky is beautiful dark, rich amber in color with complex layers of fruit and spice from the seasoned sherry casks blending seamlessly with the sweet notes of the single grain whisky. The nose has sticky toffee pudding, Turkishapricots, sultanas, coconut tea biscuits, and hints of flower blossom. The taste has cinnamon, almonds and hazelnutswith delightful salted caramel and hints of marmalade. The finish is rich, lingering with carameland spice on the finish. The bottle size is 1L. The Alc is 46,8%.
