Description
The Beadsmith Textured Metallic Soutache Braided Cord is a 3mm wide cord that comes in a gold and black color. It is 3 yards in length and is designed for passementerie projects, such as creating tassels, fringe, and military braid. The cord is made with consistent width, thickness, and drape, making it easy to combine with other materials. It can also be used for bead embroidery, where it is stacked in layers and stitched to create a textured effect. The cord is 0.8mm thick and has a herringbone pattern.
Soutache is a narrow, flat braid in a herringbone pattern and is great for passementerie projects--create tassels, fringe, military braid and other textile embellishments. The BeadSmith's Soutache was designed with tremendous attention to consistency of width, thickness and drape and can be successfully combined with polyester braid. Soutache and Bead Embroidery utilizes the soutache differently in that rather than being laid flat and sewn into curving shapes onto another surface, it is stacked in multiple layers and stitched so that the edges of the soutache are what is seen * like looking at a sandwich from the side.
